The college was upgraded in the year 1975 by the establishment of Commerce Department. The department was able to secure remarkable progress in respect of results during the past years. In the year 1983, first rank was secured by C. G. Krishnakumar of this college.


EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

1.TOURISM CLUB

A Tourism Club is functioning under the guidance of the Commerce Department. The total number of students enrolled in the club is 50. The main aim of the club is to create tourism awareness among the students. It is also hoped that the activities of the club may help the students to understand the employment scope in the tourism industry.

2.ENTERPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CLUB

An Entrepreneurship Development Club is also functioning from the academic year onwards. It functions under the guidance of the Kerala State Industries Department and the Collegiate Education Department. The main purpose of the club to conduct Entrepreneurial Development program classes to Commerce students so as help them start SSI units after their study.
