DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY
The Department of History was upgraded by starting History Degree Course in
1999. The Subsidiaries of this course are the newly trended topics
viz. Archeology and General Economics. The Department of History secured
100% results in the academic year 2003 and 2004 respectively.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS
BA Degree course in Economics was inaugurated on 2nd Dec.1982. Unlike
the conventional subsidiary papers, Economics Department offers "Banking"
as second subsidiary which is highly useful and helps in
understanding
modern banking activities on a global basis. So far nineteen batches
come out with flying colors and all the batches received more than 90%
results with a number of first and second classes. In the academic
year 2003, the Department secured 100% pass with 25 first classes and 15
second classes, which is the highest result in the Thrissur District
during that academic year. At present, there are four faculty members
in the Department. All of them have research Degrees in different
economic problems and Dr. M. Ushadevi has undertaken a number of
research projects funded by the Netherlands Government. The authorized
student strength is forty which can be enhanced to 50 by special
sanction by the University. In the academic year 2004, the
Department secured 96% results.
